Clapperton Mavhunga

Poeisis Fellow

Clapperton Mavhunga is a tenure-track assistant professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)’s Program in Science, Technology, and Society. The Zimbabwean scholar’s research and teaching focuses on the role of mobility in connecting bodies, processes, places, and times. In the long term, his intellectual ambition is to theorize the encounter between Africa and the outside world as a technoscientific process, its pre-colonial configurations, and its colonial and postcolonial trajectories, especially as more and more Africans ‘discover the world’.
