IPK is located at 20 Cooper Square in Manhattan, on the pedestrian plaza essentially where E. 5th Street makes a T with Bowery.

Subway

Take the 6 train to Astor Place or the N, R train to 8th Street and walk a bit east on Astor Place or 8th Street to Cooper Square, then south. Or take the B,D,F,M to Broadway/Lafayette, walk north on Lafayette, turn right on 4th Street, and left onto Bowery, walking north toward Cooper Square.

Car

Drivers in Manhattan contend with congestion, construction and a competitive driving etiquette which can largely be avoided by taking mass transit. Parking is scarce and costly near 20 Cooper Square. Try the garage on Broadway at Astor Place or on Cooper Square just south of Astor Place.

Train

If you are coming from locations in the northeast consider riding Amtrak, MetroNorth or the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) to reduce carbon emissions. Amtrak and LIRR serve New York Penn Station. MetroNorth serves Grand Central which is only four stops from IPK on the 6 train.

Plane

Fly in to JFK, LaGuardia (LGA), or Newark (EWR) International Airports. Taxis are available at all airports but we encourage you to consider mass transit.

  • From JFK take the AirTrain to Station D – Jamaica Station where you can transfer to a Penn Station bound Long Island Railroad Train. From Penn Station take the 2,3 subway trains to 14th Street, transfer to the F,M trains to Broadway/Lafayette.
  • From LaGuardia (LGA) take the M60 New York city bus to 125th Street and Lexington Avenue where you can transfer to the downtown 6 train to Bleecker street, just blocks from IPK.
  • From Newark, take the AirTrain Newark to Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station where you can transfer to either a New York Penn Station bound NJTransit train OR a New York Penn Station bound Amtrak train. Your AirTrain Newark card is good for both your trip on the AirTrain and your trip on NJTransit OR Amtrak. Do not confuse New Jersey Penn Station with New York Penn Station.
  • From JFK, LaGuardia or Newark take a shuttle bus, Newark Liberty Express from Newark, New York Airport Express from JFK and LaGuardia, that will bring you in to Manhattan making stops at Penn Station, the Port Authority, and Grand Central. From Grand Central, take the 6 train downtown to Astor Place.
